Mills is a leading practitioner in structured energy transactions and related energy trading agreements, project infrastructure development, mergers and acquisitions, and other corporate transactions for clients including energy providers, developers, investors and underwriters in gas, electric power and oil.

Mills joins Cadwalader’s leading energy and commodities practice, which counsels clients across complex transactional, regulatory, and enforcement defense matters involving energy, metals, and agricultural commodities and related listed and over-the-counter derivatives. The firm provides counsel to leading U.S. and international financial institutions; investment funds; oil, power and natural gas companies, producers, and developers; industrial and commercial customers; trade associations; commodity marketers; exchanges and clearing organizations.

Mills is recognized as a leading lawyer including by Best Lawyers in America, which named him “Lawyer of the Year” in the area of Derivatives and Futures Law in 2011, and by Texas’ Best Lawyers and Texas Super Lawyers.

Earlier this week, Cadwalader announced the addition of European competition Attorney Vincent Brophy to its Antitrust practice, operating from the firm’s London and Brussels offices. Brophy specializes in EU competition law, with expertise in cartel investigations and a growing emphasis on follow-on litigation. He brings to Cadwalader 20 years of experience representing clients in proceedings before the European Commission and the competition authorities of the European Member States, and he is particularly known for his work with clients in the banking and financial services field.
