Paul Hastings, a leading global law firm, announced today that it advised Tan-Eu Capital (“Tan-Eu”), the Hong Kong-based private equity real estate firm, with respect to Sotan China Real Estate I, LP’s first investment – the acquisition of a 1 million square foot development site in Wuqing, Tianjin from a local investor. A mixed-use development comprised of retail and residential space is planned for the site.

Clifford Chance Advises Partners Group on Leveraged Management Buyout of Trimco International

Leading international law firm Clifford Chance has advised global private markets investment manager Partners Group on the acquisition of Trimco International Holdings Limited, a global provider of garment label solutions to the garment manufacturing industry, on behalf of its clients. The acquisition, which was completed on 25 April, was structured as a leveraged buyout with the founder and senior management team of Trimco reinvesting a significant portion of their sale proceeds into the new company. Concurrently with the transaction, Trimco was negotiating a bolt-on acquisition of a UK-based international label solution provider, which completed shortly after the principal transaction closed and was funded as part of that transaction.

Davis Polk Advises on Chalco’s Acquisition of a Stake in Winsway

Davis Polk is advising Mr. Wang Xingchun, the chairman and controlling shareholder of Winsway Coking Coal Holdings Limited, on his disposal of a 29.9% interest in Winsway to Aluminum Corporation of China Limited (Chalco) in a transaction valued at HK$2.39 billion (approximately $307 million). After the completion of the acquisition, which is subject to certain conditions, including regulatory and shareholder approvals, Chalco will become the single-largest shareholder of Winsway.
