Mayer Brown JSM Expands Corporate & Securities Practice With Addition of Nicholas Chan in Hong Kong

Mayer Brown JSM announced today that Nicholas Chan has joined the firm’s Corporate & Securities practice as a partner in Hong Kong. His arrival further strengthens the firm’s corporate transactions offerings globally. Mr. Chan comes to Mayer Brown from Sidley Austin, where he was a partner in that firm’s corporate finance group.

His extensive experience in corporate finance transactions will further expand our capabilities in Hong Kong with a focus on China-based clients,” said Jacqueline Chiu, partner and leader of Mayer Brown JSM’s Corporate & Securities practice in Hong Kong. “In addition, Nicholas’ knowledge of Hong Kong’s IPO market and other corporate finance products is expected to enhance our recent association with Jingtian & Gongcheng, a leading Chinese firm, in connection with capital markets practice transactions for issuers from mainland China.”

Mr. Chan focuses on corporate finance transactions, including initial public offerings and general compliance work. He has experience acting for issuers and underwriters on listings on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. He has also advised listed companies on all types of transactional matters.

Mr. Chan earned his Postgraduate Certificate in Laws from the University of Hong Kong, where he also received his Bachelor of Laws degree.
