Locke Lord Expands Global Energy Practice With Addition of Energy Partner Jack Su in Hong Kong

Locke Lord LLP is pleased to announce that it has expanded its global Energy Practice team with the appointment of Jack Su as a Partner in the Firm’s Energy Practice Group. He is based in Locke Lord’s Hong Kong office.

Su has deep experience in the mergers and acquisitions of energy, power and infrastructure entities in Asia and has been involved in projects totaling more than US $5 billion. He also has a solid track record in representing oil and gas companies (upstream, midstream and downstream), power developers, water and wastewater developers, infrastructure companies and funds investing in natural resources and the infrastructure sector.

Prior to joining Locke Lord, Su was general counsel for LSE-listed Green Dragon Gas and Greka Drilling Limited, based in Hong Kong.

“Jack’s arrival is another important step in strengthening our market-leading, global energy practice,” said Bill Swanstrom, Co-Chair of Locke Lord’s Energy Practice and Co-Vice Chair of the Firm. “He brings with him a wealth of experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors. He is a highly regarded practitioner and further enhances our credentials, not only for our Asia clients but also for our U.S. and European clients with energy interests in the region.”

Wing Cheung, Managing Partner of Locke Lord’s Hong Kong office, said, “Jack is a great fit for our strategic growth in Asia, and he will play an important role in the further development of our energy capability. He has significant oil and gas industry experience and deep relationships in the region. He will bolster and help to strengthen our client capabilities in those markets and our firmwide energy capabilities.”

Su said he is excited about the opportunity to join Locke Lord’s forward-looking and collaborative energy team to help lead the growth of its energy practice in Asia.

“The Firm offers a global platform of very high quality with a long and successful history of representing leaders in the international energy industry that can be traced back to its Texas roots and the very beginning of the oil and gas industry,” he added.

Su completed his J.D. at Washington University in St. Louis School of Law in 1990 and has worked in Asia since 1991.
