Fox Rothschild’s Intellectual Property Group Welcomes Four IP Pros

Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to announce that four attorneys have joined the firm’s Intellectual Property Department. This major acquisition of talent comprises a group of three attorneys in New York and one attorney in Denver.

Based in the New York office are partners William R. Hansen and Bridget A. Short, along with Suzanna M. M. Morales, who will join as counsel. Partner William A. Rudy is based in the Denver office.

In New York, the addition of the three-decade law veteran Hansen, along with Short and Morales, follows the recent arrival of partners Paul Labov (Bankruptcy), Perla Kuhn (Intellectual Property), Mitchel Hill (Real Estate) and Alan Friedman (Entertainment). “Fox’s New York office has welcomed seven attorneys in less than one year,” said New York Office Managing Partner Michael I. Slapo. “This growth is a tangible sign of the continued deepening of our New York-based practices and a harbinger of Fox’s ongoing commitment to strategic growth in New York.”

In Denver, notable IP litigation attorney Rudy augments Fox’s western-based practice not only with his years of handling complex litigation matters, but also through his background in chemical engineering and resulting focus on sophisticated intellectual property law involving the intersection of chemistry and health research.

“Bill Hansen is a well-known and highly-respected IP litigator, and the combination of Bill, Bridget Short and Suzi Morales brings significant depth to our fast-growing New York City trademark practice,” noted James M. Singer, chair of Fox’s national Intellectual Property Department. “Bill Rudy is a true leader in the intellectual property field, with significant experience in handing and resolving complex patent disputes across the country.”

Recently ranked by Law360 as among the firms with the most intellectual property partners, Fox’s IP department has been steadily expanding on a national level over the past few years. With more than 80 team members practicing coast to coast, the group provides comprehensive IP legal services, including transactional copyright and trademark registration and patent prosecution; IP audits and reviews; licensing; post-grant proceedings; and the spectrum of IP litigation involving trade secrets, enforcement, International Trade Commission matters and Hatch-Waxman Patent cases, among others. The department was recently named one of the top 25 Intellectual Property Law firms in the Philadelphia region by the Philadelphia Business Journal and ranked among the top patent firms by IP Today and in Intellectual Asset Management’s (IAM) “Patent 1000: The World’s Leading Patent Practitioners.”

Prior to joining Fox, the group was with Lathrop & Gage.
