Renowned Trial Attorney Rob Hoffman Joins Andrews Kurth in Dallas

Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce that accomplished courtroom attorney Robert “Rob” Hoffman has joined the firm as a partner in Dallas.

A trial lawyer for more than three decades, Mr. Hoffman has handled a wide array of complex, high exposure, commercial litigation matters nationwide. His successful track record helped him earn recognition as one of the top 15 “Business Defenders” in North Texas as selected by the editors of the Dallas Business Journal. He joins Andrews Kurth from Dallas’ Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP.

“Rob is an excellent addition to our commercial litigation practice, particularly for our clients in the private equity, financial services and real estate industries,” says Bob Jewell, Managing Partner of Andrews Kurth. “He has a well-deserved reputation for being a highly skilled attorney with years of outstanding experience.”

Mr. Hoffman’s recent legal victories include successfully defending one of the nation’s largest insurance carriers in a case in which the plaintiffs sought $200 million. After a seven-week trial, jurors issued a take-nothing verdict.

Mr. Hoffman has been named to the Texas Super Lawyers list since 2003, the first year the list was published. He has also been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America since 2013 and D Magazine’s Best Lawyers in Dallas.

“With its international presence and superb reputation, Andrews Kurth is the perfect place for me to grow my practice,” Mr. Hoffman says. “I’m also happy to be able to offer my clients access to some of the best lawyers in the country in just about every conceivable practice area.”

In addition to his legal work, Mr. Hoffman is active in the Dallas business community. He serves as general counsel and Board Member of the General Counsel Forum and is a former board member for the March of Dimes, United Way, and Community Services branch of the Dallas YMCA. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of BBVA Compass Bank Dallas and is a member of the Board of Directors of Darkness to Light, a national non-profit whose mission is to end child sex abuse.

He received his law degree in 1981 from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law and his bachelor’s degree, with honors, from the University of Texas at Austin in 1978.
