Cornelius J. Golden recently joined Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe and he fills a Washington legal job for the international law firm, according to a press release.

Golden joins the firm as a partner for the global energy and infrastructure practice, bringing with him 25 years of experience with energy clients.

The practice's co-chair said "Neil" will aid the firm's capacities to dig deeper on the Eastern Seaboard.

"The renewable energy sector has grown substantially over the past few years with global rankings placing the U.S. in the top spot with nearly $50 billion in solar, biofuel, wind and other energy sector investments in 2011," co-head Michael Meyers with the firm's global energy and infrastructure practice said. "Neil has unrivalled corporate and financing experience in the energy sector, representing independent power producers with conventional fuel projects as well as alternative projects, both in the United States and internationally."

Recent years have seen Golden work on renewable energy projects' development and financing, including wind, solar, biomass and fuel cells.

Prior to joining Orrick, Golden practiced law with Chadbourne & Parke.
