Simmons & Simmons has just scored a lateral partner. Davis Wang leaves his position with King & Wood to join Simmons' Beijing office. This makes Simmons & Simmons first lateral partner hire for the new office.
Norton Rose has made a new lateral hire in Beijing. Michael Yu has left Global Law Office to join the firm. Yu focuses his opractice on Mergers and Acquisitions, IPOs and private placements. He will make the 6th partner in Norton's Beijing office.
Major Chinese law firm Jun He has opened their second U.S. office in Silicon Valley. The firm hopes the office will allow them to better serve both U.S. and Chinese clients looking to do business between the two countries. Jun He's other U.S. office is in New York.
With offices already operating in Shanghai and Hong Kong, Simmons & Simmons now has plans to launch a Beijing office. The new office is still in the planning stages but has already gained partner approval.
