Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce that experienced international oil and gas attorney Jerry Jie Li has joined the firm as a Partner in the Beijing office.
Mr. Li represents energy and oil & gas companies in mergers and acquisitions, exploration and production investment, and a variety of legal issues involving drilling, seismic, technical service, surface facilities engineering service, offshore operations, EPCC turnkey and trading.
“Few people understand China’s energy industry like Mr. Li,” says Tim Unger, Andrews Kurth Partner and co-chair of the Business Transactions section. “His unique understanding of the area, as well as his experience and insights will be a great addition to our firm and a tremendous asset for all our clients.”
Throughout his career Mr. Li has been involved in more than 500 oil and gas projects across more than 50 countries. He handled the legal affairs for one of China’s largest national oil and gas company for more than a decade.

Mr. Li earned his Juris Master Degree from Tsinghua University School of Law and his B.A., with honors, from Zhengzhou University. He is a member of the China Bar Admission and the Association of Corporate Counsel, has earned his China Senior Economist Credential and is a Registered Lawyer and Registered Enterprise Legal Advisor of China.
