Pirkey Barber Announces New Additions

Austin IP Boutique Pirkey Barber PLLC is pleased to announce the addition of Chris Kindel, Rebecca Younger and Megan Myers. Founded in 2006 by Louis Pirkey, Bill Barber and Steve Meleen, Pirkey Barber has grown to 18 attorneys and supports some of the most recognizable and valuable brands nationally and abroad.

With more than 10 years’ experience counseling clients in trademark and copyright matters, Kindel joins as the newest member level attorney. He has represented clients in a wide range of industries and focuses his practice on trademark portfolio management, licensing, clearance, and enforcement matters. Kindel also has extensive experience counseling clients on domain name and internet issues as well as a range of copyright and technology licensing issues.

“We have known and admired Chris Kindel for several years; he is not only a highly capable specialist in our field, but he also enjoys a sterling reputation among members of the trademark bar,” said Steve Meleen, Managing Member. “The combination of Chris, Rebecca and Megan adds significant expertise and energy to our practice and will help us maintain our standing as industry leaders in trademark and copyright law. Younger, a new associate, earned her J.D. with Honors from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois, where she received two CALI awards for Excellence in Legal Writing and Trademark Drafting. Before joining Pirkey Barber, Younger was an intern for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She is currently licensed in Illinois.

Myers will focus on her practice on trademark, copyright and technology law. She earned her J.D. with Honors from The University of Texas School of Law. Myers recently took the Texas State Bar Exam and will join the firm as an associate upon admission.
