Thompson Hine Expands Atlanta IP and Real Estate Practices

Thompson Hine LLP is pleased to announce that E.J. Joswick has joined the firm’s Intellectual Property practice as a partner in Atlanta.

Joswick, who is registered to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office, focuses his practice on patent procurement and counseling, litigation and licensing. He has extensive experience obtaining patent protection related to innovations in software, artificial intelligence, neural networks, image processing, analytics, telecommunications, network communications, mesh-networks, e-commerce, television, webcasting, virtual reality, augmented reality, and other computer-related technologies. He also advises on patent issues involving medical devices, textiles, wood-working and other mechanical technologies. He specializes in in-depth investigation, analysis and evaluation of technology, business and complex legal issues to provide strategic advice and services.

“Thompson Hine’s collaborative nature and client-focused culture were an immediate draw,” said Joswick of his decision to join the firm. “The firm’s emphasis on value, transparency and efficiency makes it a clear standout in the market, and its innovative approach to service will greatly benefit my clients.”

Joswick provides patent procurement and counseling services for clients that range from startups to the largest companies in the world. He counsels clients regarding new product/service launches with respect to patentability, clearance issues, and helps those clients obtain business-critical patent protection. He also has experience managing large teams of attorneys that efficiently and strategically obtain patents for the diversified patent portfolios of some of the world-leading tech companies.

“E.J. is a fantastic addition to the Atlanta office and our national IP practice because he puts the client’s needs first and delivers solutions, not just advice,” said Atlanta office partner-in-charge Tim McDonald. “His extensive high-tech experience complements our existing practice, which is strong in the biotech and mechanical areas. And very important to our firm, he’s someone you want to work with.”

The firm also announced that it has added associate Christina L. Campbell to the Real Estate practice in Atlanta.
