Today, Nossaman announced that the firm’s client Sutter Health received the final decision in a major Medi-Cal appeal case. The decision will be of major significance to all hospitals in the state that have Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) because it clarifies the reimbursement rate available through Medi-Cal based on nurse-to-patient ratios.

Wragge & Co advises Phoenix Pharmahandel on €3.6 billion refinancing

Wragge & Co has advised Germany’s largest pharmaceutical wholesaler, Phoenix Pharmahandel, on the UK aspects of its €3.6 billion refinancing. A team led by corporate partner Jeremy Millington and banking director Edward Sunderland advised in connection with the complex refinancing. This involved a €500 million unsecured bond issue and a €2.6 billion syndicated loan through the company’s subsidiary Phoenix PIB Finance BV. Hengeler Mueller was the lead firm advising Phoenix Pharmahandel.

Greenberg Traurig Represents Consolidated Edison Development, Inc. in Plan to Build Largest Solar Energy Farm in Northeast

Greenberg Traurig, LLP announced that its client, Consolidated Edison Development, Inc. (CED), a developer and owner of renewable gas and transmission assets with a focus on the Northeastern United States, along with Texas-based Panda Power Funds, plans to build a 20-megawatt solar farm on a 100-acre site in Pilesgrove, New Jersey. The farm will be connected directly to the electrical grid via the Atlantic City Electric distribution system. Greenberg Traurig’s team advising CED on the solar project included Robert Wexler, a shareholder in the Corporate and Securities Practice of the New Jersey office; Steven Fleissig, a shareholder in the Real Estate Practice in the New Jersey office; and Charles Schwenck, Co-Chair of the firm’s Energy and Natural Resources Practice in the Los Angeles office.

Milbank Represents Lenders in Financing of Portfolio of 11 Wind Energy Facilities in Idaho

The international law firm Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP, led by Global Project Finance partner Bill Bice, represented the lenders in the construction and permanent financing of a portfolio of 11 wind energy facilities located near Twin Falls County, Idaho. The lenders included The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, LTD., New York Branch, ING Capital LLC and Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale (NordLB), New York Branch. The Idaho Wind Project owned by Idaho Wind Partners 1, LLC, is the largest wind power portfolio in Idaho with a total capacity of 183 MW. Once completed, the portfolio is expected to qualify for the Federal Treasury Grant program for renewable energy projects.
